PADI Distinctive Specialty Course: 
​Artistic Swimming Mermaid 

May 24th & 25th, 2025

Choose from a course session below:
Saturday: Course session 1 - classroom 2-3pm, pool from 3-5pm
Sunday: Course session 2 - classroom 10am, pool 11-1pm
$300, including materials 
Deposit - $50.00, by March 24th (deposit may be non-refundable if unable to fill your spot)

Prerequisite: Basic Mermaid or Basic Freediver

Join Irene Marcoux (@irene_la_sirene), an internationally renowned artistic swimming coach and @paditv Mermaid Instructor Trainer and Freedive Instructor for a special and limited access offering! In this course, you'll learn to master a diverse array of artistic swimming sculls, techniques, and moves that will elevate your mermaiding performances. Dive into this immersive experience and unlock the secrets to captivating your audience with graceful moves and mesmerizing aquatic displays. This course is normally only available in Quebec, Canada but we are bringing it to you!

Skill Development: 

• Introduction to sculling, theory and directionality  

• Sculls: Introduce and practice flat sculls in a horizontal position  

• Whirlpool  

• Introduce and practice propeller sculls in a horizontal position  

• Introduce and practice turning sculls  

• Body-based movements 

• Pretzel & turn Marlin Front walkover  

• Back walkover  

• Rolls: stationary & swimming  

• Duck dive with spin down  

• Sequence
