Let's explore the lake!Join us on a Dive Along with Dive Utah at Sand Hollow Reservoir in St. George, Utah on September 28th!
This freshwater reservoir has an underwater dive park that we often use for scuba diving. However, most of the sunken features like the airplane, Volkswagen bus, boat, treasure chest are also accessible for freedivers. Depending on water levels, these features are in 55' of water or less. We will have surface buoys set to locate the features and dive down to them. The shore entry is great for Mermaids, and the dive dock is great for Advanced Mermaids, offering all mermaids the opportunity enjoy shallower water with warm, bright light on the rich sandstone rocks while swimming within your ability. The shores around the lake offer beautiful options for photoshoots! Get in touch if you'd like more information about this Dive-Along. Do you need gear for this event? Now is the time to get it! Wetsuits with a hood from 3mm to 5mm are suggested for Freediving activities. We can help you order from Fourth Element if you're ready! Sun protection is important to remember while you're out on shore warming up between dives. Be sure to bring reef safe sunscreen and sun protection such as sun shirt and hat. Use code mermaidani10 for 10% off Stream2sea or pick some up at Dive Utah. Usually our dive-alongs are very informal, flexible and fun! We set up a tent near the dive area (pink star in map below), we will have water and safety equipment there as well. At Dive Utah, there is a clipboard where people sign up for the event so we know how many people to expect. In the past, we have shared a condo rental with others at the dive shop. We go down Friday and return Sunday, but you can do any schedule you want! Check out AirBnB, Sand Hollow Vacation Rentals, or Hurricane area hotels to find lodging if you need it. Hotels are averaging about $130/night. You can also camp at Sand Hollow if you'd like. We usually don't charge for Dive-alongs, we just ask everyone to be responsible, safe, and work with their buddies. Sand Hollow State Park fees: Day Use: $15 Weekdays – $20* Fri- Sunday. Senior Day Use: $10 Seniors (65 yrs old). Annual Pass: $125. Senior Annual Pass: $65. Walk In Fee: $5 per person. *: Increased weekend fees apply from March-October
